Eight Hill College students will attend the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, Wy., June 13-19. The Hill College men's team will have six contestants, a full representation, competing this year.  To qualify, a contestant has to finish in the top three of their respective event or be picked as a team member if their institution finishes in the top two teams.  Hill College will be the only institution to have a full team competing at the CNFR.
The team is made up of: southern region Reserve Champion Bull Rider sophomore Gunar Ramsey from Louisiana, southern region Reserve Champion Bull Rider freshman Riggin Phillips from McKinney, southern region Reserve Champion Calf Roper sophomore Cory Solomon from Prairie View, southern region Reserve Champion Team Roper Header sophomore Zach Kilgus from Pennsylvania, third in the region Team Roping Header sophomore Brody Self from Grandview, and third in the region Team Roping Heeler sophomore Blake Stocker from Krum.

The women's team finished third, behind Texas A & M University and Sam Houston State University. Hill College will still be sending two individuals to the CNFR: southern region Champion Barrel Racer freshman Rachel Underwood from Waxahachie, and third in the region Goat Tier sophomore Cassie Harmon from Gatesville.

Hill College has won four of the last seven national championships in bull riding. Rodeo coach Paul Brown believes that the men's team has the talent and experience to win the national championship again this year. He expects the students to finish in the top five of the nation.

Brown is expecting a rewarding and exciting summer for all of his students.
