With the team victory in the NJCAA national preview tournament last week, the Odessa College golf team moved to the number one position in the NJCAA golf poll released today. The preview tournament was played at the Rawls Golf Course, on the campus of Texas Tech university. The Rawls course will be the site of the NJCAA national championship tournament next May. Odessa College has now won three straight, and three of the four tournament events that they have participated in during the 2012 fall season.
The McLennan Community College women's golf team is ranked in the third in the first Golfstat poll of the fall season.
Daytona State is ranked first, followed by Seminole State in second. Tyler (fifth) and Western Texas (sixth) round out the Texas colleges ranked in the poll.
The McLennan Community College men's and women's golf teams are ranked in the final Golfstat polls of the season.
The Highlanders sit at No. 10. Meridian remains in the top spot, followed by Darton in second and Brevard in third. Other Texas colleges in the poll are Western Texas at fourth, Odessa in fifth and Midland in seventh.
NEWTON, KAN. Three Odessa College golfers finished in the top five at the National Junior College Athletic Association Division I national championship preview tournament to lead the Wranglers to victory Tuesday. Odessa College finished with a 305 on the second day at Sand Creek Station Golf Club, giving the team a three-round total of 910 and an eight-stroke victory.
