Clarendon College sophomore Hector Becerra set a stadium record when he competed in the Hardin-Simmons Invitational Track Meet in Abilene on April 12.

The El Paso Community College men's team was named The Academic Team of the Year by the National Junior College Cross Country Coaches Association with a GPA of 3.851 for the five-member qualifying team in the fall 2012 semester. Michael Grijalva and Angel De La Cruz also earned individual academic honors with a semester GPA of 4.00.  There were 22 schools ranked with Hesston College (KS) finishing 2nd with a 3.833 team GPA.

Clarendon College Cross Country Coach Zack Leggett participated in the Dallas Marathon on Sunday, December 9, and finished 28th out of a field of 4,873 full marathon finishers.

Leggett ran the 26.2-mile event in 2:56:26, beating his personal goal of 3:00:00. 

Leggett said he enjoyed running in a marathon of this size –over 25,000 participants in total.

EL PASO - The South Plains College Lady Texan and El Paso Tejano cross country teams proved why they are the fourth- and seventh ranked teams in the National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) and why they are potential contenders for next month's NJCAA championships when they both cruised to the team titles at the Region 5 cross country championships Saturday morning at the Rio Grande Valley Horse Ranch.

All five scoring runners finished inside the top 10 and the SPC women were once again led by sophomore Darroneshia Lott.

For the first time in the history of the Clarendon College cross country program, a Bulldog brought home first place in a meet.
 
 

Tes Tesfay, a freshman from Stafford, TX, won the New Mexico Junior College Invitational in Hobbs, New Mexico, on Saturday, September 29, with a time of 27 minutes and 31 seconds.
