The Brookhaven Bears were crowned the Region V, DIV III Champions, defeating the Richland Thunderducks in the best of a five game series (25-21, 25-10, 19-25, 20-25, 15-7) and will now advance to the National Tournament  November 13-15 in Rochester, Minnesota.

Alexis Aguirre had a chance to continue her volleyball career close to home, but she chose to leave New Mexico and play for Odessa College instead.

That's looking like a good decision at this point.

For the first time in program history, the Odessa College volleyball team earned a spot in the NJCAA top 25 poll.

The Wranglers checked in at No. 14 in the 2014 preseason poll released Wednesday. The list also included four other Texas junior college squads.

The Odessa College Volleyball team had three players make commitments to 4-year institutions recently. Holly Benoit will continue her volleyball career with Dallas Baptist University this fall, Jackie Bautista will be playing for Our Lady of the Lakes University in San Antonio, and Natalija Djordjevic will attend Grand Canyon University.
