LEVELLAND, Texas - The No. 3 ranked South Plains College Texans and No. 4 ranked Lady Texans blasted their Region 5 competition Saturday morning en route to sweeping the team titles Saturday morning. Natoya Goule led the Lady Texans with a second place finish as the SPC women took six of the top 10 places. On the men's side, Kemoy Campbell dominated the race and his teammates also took care of business as all seven Texans finished within the top 10.

South Plains College is hosting the Region 5 Cross Country meet on Saturday, October 30th.  The women's 5,000-meter run is set for 10 a.m. and the men's 8,000-meter run will be contested at 10:45 a.m.

All entries are due by 5 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27th and can be emailed to Blaine Wiley at bwiley@southplainscollege.edu.

New Mexico Junior College has been awarded the privilege to host the 2011 NJCAA cross country meet.  Officials from New Mexico JC made the announcement at the recently held NJCAA national meetings in Colorado Springs, Colorado.  Congratulations to New Mexico JC director of athletics Don Worth as well as New Mexico JC for representing Region 5 in such a prestigous event!

OVERLAND PARK, Kan. - ­ The South Plains College Texans successfully defended the NJCAA half marathon championship they won last year behind the returning sophomores who powered them to the title last year.
