HERKIMER, N.Y. -- Richland College (Texas) won its third women's soccer national championship in six years on Sunday (Nov. 15) when they defeated Montgomery College - Rockville (Md.) 2-1 at the 2009 NJCAA Women's Division III Soccer Championship on the campus of Herkimer County Community College (N.Y.).

Chelsea Palmer and Kaylyn Settle netted goals for the Thunderducks and Palmer also had an assist. Goalkeeper Lilly Valero recorded seven saves on eight shots. 

Settle, Valero and Jessica Martin all received All-Tournament honors for Richland. Palmer was awarded Offensive MVP honors for the tournament while Letty Adame won the Defensive MVP. Coach of the Tournament honrs went to Scott Toupes of Richland as well.
