Ashley Kay, Eastfield College
Kay (6' 0") became the second Harvester to earn Player of the Week
honors this season with strong performances in all four of Eastfield's
matches last week. The sophomore's best effort came in a five-set
victory against Cedar Valley College (Texas). Kay tallied 19 kills and
12 digs for a double-double. Kay and the Harvesters have completed their
regular season.
Tiffany McClain also earned the honor for Eastfield during the week of September 12-18.

The NTJCAC Volleyball Player of the Week is Cayleigh Drake a freshman middle blocker for Hill College. Cayleigh led her team to two conference wins this week putting them in a tie for second place. Against conference leading Temple College she recorded 11 kills and 2 blocks and against Cisco College she had 20 kills with a .438 hitting percentage. The 20 kills were a career high and a season high for middle blockers at Hill College. Cayleigh is from Rogers High School. Hill College has upcoming matches on October 25th against NCTC and October 27th versus Ranger College.

Congratulations to Midland College assistant volleyball coach Jennifer Charles who was recently selected to receive a 2011 AVCA Minority Coaches Scholarship. Charles, who is in her first year at MC, was one of 12 recipients for the scholarship award from the American Volleyball Coaches Association.

The NJCAA recently selected Midland College freshman outside hitter Dragana Cvoric as their Division I Volleyball Player for the week of October 10th-16th.
Cvoric, a six-footer from Guca, Serbia recorded double-doubles in kills and digs in WJCAC matches against Western Texas College (October 12th) and Frank Phillips College (October 15th) both wins for Midland College. Cvoric recorded 15 kills and 22 digs versus Western Texas College and 17 kills and 20 digs against Frank Phillips College.
