Karina Cannon is beginning her third year as the assistant coach at Odessa College. After two successful seasons assisting Coach Prickett in achieving two Region 5 West Championships, a 5th place finish at the NJCAA National Tournament in 2014 and honored the NJCAA West Region Coaching staff of the year in 2013.

Raquel Hawkins will be the first softball player to be inducted in to the Lubbock Chrisitan University Hall of Honor. Hawkins will be inducted in to the Hall of Honor on Saturday September 27th, 2014 at 6 p.m. inside Lubbock Christian Universities Baker Conference Center.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference recently announced their All-Conference softball teams for the 2014 season.  Following a sweep through the conference tournament as well as helping lead her team to the regular season championship, Janessa Flynn of Odessa College was named the league's Most Valuable Player. 

Flynn and the Lady Wranglers will participate in the NJCAA National Tournament in St. George, Utah May 14-17.

Odessa College head softball coach, Joel Prickett, celebrated a coaching milestone Friday evening after his 2014 team earned him his 500th career win.  The #1 seeded Odessa College Wranglers took on the #5 seeded Clarendon College Bulldogs in the Region V West Softball Tournament being played at Texas Tech University.  The Wranglers won the game in five innings, with a score of 14-1.

UPDATE:  Congratulations to Odessa College and North Central Texas College for qualifying to the NJCAA National Softball Tournament held May 14-17 in St. George, Utah!  Odessa College swept through the Region 5 West Tournament without a loss that culminated in a 9-1 victory over No. 2 seed Howard on Sunday.  NCTC, meanwhile, had to overcome a 2-0 loss to Temple during game seven but bounced back to win three straight that included back-to-back victories over Temple to claim the championship.

Good luck to both Region 5 teams as they compete for the NJCAA Softball championship!

The regular season has come to an end and it is now time for both the Region 5 North and West Softball tournaments scheduled May 2-4.

The top six teams from the Western Junior College Athletic Conference (WJCAC) will play at Texas Tech University while the North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference (NTJCAC) tournament will be held at LeTourneau University in Longview.
