Midland College softball coach Tommy Ramos garnered his 600th career win
on Saturday, February 4, 2012 in a 9-0 victory over Cisco Junior College
(TX). Ramos who is in his 14th year as
head coach of the Lady Chap's, started the program and is the only head coach

For former Midland College Lady Chap softball player Monique Corralez the 2011 MLB World Series bore special significance. Corralez played outfield for Midland College Coach Tommy Ramos from 2004-2006. She is currently employed with the Texas Rangers as an Community Outreach Assistant. Ms. Corralez works in the Foundation and Community Outreach Department of the club. Among her duties are working with the Texas Rangers Baseball Foundation in various capacities including procuring signed team memorabilia items for the Foundation's Silent Auction, which raises money for scholarships for deserving students. Additionally, Ms. Corralez will make sure the scholarship monies are sent to the proper universities on the student's behalf. She also mans the auction booth during games in Arlington.

the annual Fuddruckers Junior College All-Star Weekend on Sept. 30- Oct. 1 at Baylor Ballpark & Getterman Stadium in Waco, Texas.

Rome McNary, the winningest softball coach in
Western Texas College history, is returning to the college.
Following the resignation of Steve Kissel, who left WTC with a
three-year record of 76-77, Western's president, Dr. Mike Dreith, said he was
surprised and pleased to learn that McNary was interested in returning to the
college.
"Rome was wonderfully successful at WTC," said
Dreith. "We know his return means good things for our softball team and
athletic program."

LUBBOCK, Texas - The Region 5 West softball and Region 5 baseball tournaments are quickly approaching and both will be contested in Lubbock as softball will be played on the campus of Lubbock Christian University and baseball will be housed at Texas Tech's Dan Law Field.
Softball action will begin first Thursday, May 5 and will conclude Saturday, May 7.
The Region 5 baseball tournament is slated for May 8-12 and will feature a live broadcast that can be accessed by visiting
