The New Mexico Military Institute and its 12th ranked Bronco football team are proud to announce that they will accept an invitation to play in the 2011 C.H.A.M.P.S. Heart of Texas Bowl on December 3rd. The game is slated to begin at 2 pm Central at Bulldawg Stadium in Copperas Cove, TX. NMMI will take on the 6th ranked Navarro College Bulldogs.

Bronco football wide receiver, Xan Mangum, has been selected to the National Junior College Athletic Association's 2010 All-American Team as an Honorable Mention. The freshman red-shirt transfer student from Presbyterian College made a huge impact on offense this season for the Institute juco team, hauling in 64 passes for 1,340 yards and nine touchdowns. This 1,340 yard reception total was the best this year in the NJCAA, and puts him in third place in the NJCAA Record Book, which tracks stats back to 1970.

The ‘Lynn Dynasty' continues for NMMI football, as Josh Lynn becomes the just the 30th head Bronco football coach since the program's inception 112 years ago under William Fitzgerald, back in 1898. Former head coach Jeff Lynn, Josh's older brother, will be leaving the Institute to start a new NAIA program at Wayland Baptist University.
