Fresh faces in NTJCAC Volleyball

(Story by Ryan Ronan, Ranger College)

Turnover is a huge part of all junior college sports. Nowhere is that more evident this season than in Region 5 volleyball. Three of the seven programs have undergone a coaching change, including the preseason conference favorite, Hill College where Jordan Fish takes over.

The Rebels take the top spot followed by:

-          North Central Texas College

-          Cisco College

-          Ranger College

-          Temple College

-          Vernon College

-          Southwest Christian College

Jordan Pickett takes over at Temple where the Leopards are expected to sneak into the postseason in the No. 5 spot.

Rounding out the changes at the top, LaShaunda Spurgeon is the new women in charge at Vernon.

Fish and the favorited Rebels start conference play by hosting Ranger on Sept. 12.

Pickett will get her first conference shot when TC opens with Hill on Sept. 15.

Spurgeon and the Chaps open conference play when they travel to SWCC, which will also be the opener for the Rams.

Cisco and NCTC open against each other in Gainesville on Sept. 11.
