McLennan athletes named NJCAA All-Americans
McLennan Baseball and Softball combined to put three athletes on the NJCAA All-American teams released today.
Baseball's Griffin Lewis was selected as the First-Team All-American Relief Pitcher. Lewis, a sophomore right-hander from Flower Mound, made 23 appearances with five starts on the mound. He notched an 11-1 record with one save, a 2.29 ERA and 83 strikeouts in 70.2 innings. Lewis was a First-Team All-Conference and All-Region V selection.
Softball's Olivia Garrett and Traci Lowry were Second-Team All-American Pitcher and Third-Team All-American Catcher, respectively. Garrett, a freshman right-hander from Booneville, Mississippi, made 26 appearances in the circle, notching a 17-7 record with 181 strikeouts and a 2.25 ERA in 143 innings pitched. She was selected as the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Year, First-Team All-Conference, All-Region V, NFCA First-Team All-Region and NFCA Second-Team All-American selection. Lowry, a freshman catcher from Franklin, Texas, recorded a .507 average with 16 doubles, six triples, three home runs and 38 RBI in 45 games. She was also First-Team All-Conference, All-Region V, NFCA First-Team All-Region and NFCA First-Team All-American selection.
