Palma Claims Final DAC Hitter of Week
Dallas College Eastfield's Sebastian Palma was named the Dallas Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the seventh and final time this season.
A sophomore third baseman from Dallas, Palma batted .727, going 8 for 11 with three home runs, doubles doubles, nine runs batted in, eight runs scored, five walks and two stolen bases as the No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees won a three-game series with league regular season runner-up Dallas College Brookhaven. He homered and doubled twice, going 5 for 5 with six RBI and two walks in a 20-12 Game 1 victory. Palma had two hits, including a homer and drove in three runs in the second game of the series. He was 1 for 3 in the final game of the regular season – a 13-1 win for the Bees.
Palma finished the regular season on a nine-game hitting streak with a nation-leading 25 home runs and 91 RBI, while hitting .443.
Eastfield hosts the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Tournament Wednesday-Saturday. The tournament will air on the DAC Sports Network.
