Palma Collects 3rd National Player of Week Honor
Dallas College Eastfield's Sebastian Palma was named the National Junior College Athletic Association Division III Player of the Week for the third time this season.
A sophomore third baseman from Dallas, Palma was 8 for 11 with three home runs, two doubles, nine runs batted in, eight runs scored, five walks and two stolen bases as the No. 1-ranked Harvester Bees won two of three games against Dallas College Brookhaven to end the regular season. He had a homer and two doubles, going 5 for 5 with six RBI and two walks in a 20-12 Game 1 victory. Palma had two hits, belting his nation- leading 25th homer while driving in three runs in the second game of the series. He was 1 for 3 in the final game of the regular season.
Palma ended the regular season on a nine-game hitting streak with an NJCAA Division III-best 91 RBI, while batting .443.
Eastfield hosts Dallas College Cedar Valley (19-34) at 11 a.m. Thursday in the NJCAA Division III Tournament. The tournament is being broadcast on the DAC Sports Network.
