Benavidez, Garrett named NTJCAC Softball Players of the Week

Jasmine Benavidez of Temple College and Olivia Garrett of McLennan Community College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A sophomore shortstop from Temple, Texas, Benavidez is the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. She batted .667 with 2 doubles, 2 triples and 8 RBI. She also scored 4 runs and drew 3 walks, and swiped 3 stolen bases.

A freshman right-hander from Booneville, Mississippi, Garrett is the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. In her two outings this week, she worked 10 innings and allowed just 4 hits - and just 7 baserunners overall - while striking out 16 batters. She won both of her outings.
