Garrett, Rogers earn NTJCAC Softball honors

Olivia Garrett of McLennan Community College and Kaelani Rogers of McLennan Community College were named the Northern Texas Junior College Athletic Conference's Softball Players of the Week.

A freshman right-hander from Booneville, Mississippi, Garrett is the NTJCAC Pitcher of the Week. She pitched two complete games against Temple, a 6-4 win (7 innings) and a 2-1 loss (9 innings). En route to going 1-1, she allowed just 10 hits and 4 earned runs in 16 innings of work. She posted 10 strikeouts and just 2 walks in the two-game stretch.

A freshman designated player from Carrollton, Texas, Rogers is the NTJCAC Position Player of the Week. For the week, she hit .417 with 2 doubles, 2 home runs and 5 RBI. She also scored 3 runs.
