Odessa's Elizabeth Ilanda Claims Half Marathon Individual Championship to sweep Fall Distance Championships

Four days after her impressive come-from-behind victory to claim the 2024 NJCAA D1 Women's Cross-Country Individual Championship, Odessa's Elizabeth Ilanda captured the NJCAA Half Marathon individual championship.

Ilanda becomes the first Half Marathon winner in Odessa College school history. She is the first individual cross-country winner since Tigrest Moreda in 1993.

Saturday, Elizabeth won the cross-country individual championship with a time of 17 minutes, 8 seconds (5k). On Tuesday, she completed the NJCAA Fall distance sweep winning the Half-Marathon (13.1 miles) with a time of 1:21:08.30.

Elizabeth becomes the seventh runner to win both the Cross-County and Half Marathon Individual Championships in the same year.

As a team, Odessa placed eighth nationally in cross country and fourth in the nation in Half Marathon
