Milicent Wafula Named USTFCCCA NJCAA D1 Women's Athlete of the Week

Milicent Wafula has been untouchable in her first two races this season.

Her most recent victory was by a margin of 20.3 seconds at the Texas Tech Open, stopping the clock at 20:49.1 for 6k over Sarah Koomson of NCAA DII No. 2 West Texas A&M.

Wafula kicked off the year by winning Abilene Christian's Naimadu Classic, running 13:36.5 for 2.49 miles in leading a 1-2-3 sweep by the No. 6-ranked Wranglers.

This is the fourth time that a female athlete from Odessa has been named M-F Athletic National Athlete of the Week in cross country. Wafula joins Elizabeth Ilanda (three times in 2024) in that regard.
