Women's Basketball Players of the Week (Jan. 4-10)

Region V has announced the Women's Basketball Players of the Week for the week of Jan. 4-10.

The North Texas Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Taylor Jackson of Collin College. The 5-6 sophomore guard from Frisco, TX scored 25 points with 7 rebounds, 4 assists and 4 steals in a 76-66 win over Hill College last week. She hit five 3-pointers and was 4 of 5 from the free throw line.

The Western Junior College Athletic Conference Player of the Week is Shaniya Mitchell of New Mexico Junior College. The 5-10 freshman from Bay City, TX once again came off the bench to spark the Lady Thunderbirds in a win over South Plains at the Texan Dome. She pumped in 20 points to go along with 6 rebounds and led the team in minutes played.
